Emmett Johnson Set to Break Out as Nebraska’s Workhorse in 2025

Sometimes I think coaches get so worried about not giving other guys touches and/or giving one guy too many touches, that they switch guys out.
Can't disagree. I think the age of the transfer portal makes it worse. You have a guy or 2 who next year "could be the man", so they get playing time in an attempt to keep them. Gone are the days of "good" players staying and developing. Hoping Rhule's was of developing guys resonates and he can continue to get good guys. Winning will help a lot as well.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I am tired of the continued running back by committee. 3-4 backs getting reps means you don't have "thee back". I want that bell cow, in a rhythm, 20 plus touches per game RB. Not the swiss knife, interchangeable, rotation. Get a clear 1-2 and roll with it.
Yes I agree. We were basically I-Back U when we had dominate RBs year after year. Of course back in those days, there was no NIL, no Portal and so everyone had to basically 'wait their turn' which would come the next year. We always seemed to have a great back who would get at least 1000 yards a season. I'd like to see that same situation - a great back who can pile on the yards. Can the #2 RB be patient enough to 'wait his turn'?? Part of recruiting now is recruiting your own players to come back. Rhule did a good job of retaining players during the offseason. If this continues we should be able to build some consistency at RB.
