This actually surprises me that Rozier is the only one.
The concerns you mention, especially top end speed, are what is keeping him from being higher in the draft. His top end speed won't change much, if any, so he is who he is and may decide to accept 4th round. If I am in his shoes, I take it. If he is any lower than that, NIL would likely be more profitable for him at Nebraska for one more year so he would then have a decision to make.I absolutely appreciate EJ and would love to see him come back for another year, knowing good and well that his days at Nebraska are numbered. In fact, I think he only plays 2 more game here and sits out of our bowl game. If he would get invited to NYC and/or get drafted in the top 4 rounds, it is a huge feather in the Nebraska cap. Rhule will build off of the fact that "we" developed him. Great recruiting. With that said, I have a serious question from those who know more than I do..... he doesn't have break away speed and it has been noted that this could hinder his draft stock, but my question is about pass protection. Is he good enough at that to be considered a top tier pick or will it hinder his stock? I just remember the cluster that the Minnesota game was and even Rhule calling him out for getting ran through. I am not saying that he isn't good at pass pro, just asking.
Hate to say it but I think it depends if we win or lose those games. I still think it's a very long shot even if we do win. Now that he is on the national radar, if he did come back next year and produce the same, I think he is a shoe in for the invite. So let's say EJ gets over 100 yards the next 2 games - does he get an invite to NY for the Heisman award??
agree. If he comes back next year - he should be a shoe in for the invite IFFFFFF the team learns to beat the big names on the schedule next year. The schedule looks difficult but maybe Rhule makes the changes needed and uses NIL/Portal to continue the upward climb back to relevance.Hate to say it but I think it depends if we win or lose those games.
