End of the Draft

Dumervil weighs in at 210 lbs.... little light for a nfl defensive end. At the very best he will be a situational third down pass rusher, and at the worse he will be pacaked by a large OT in practice and his body will shatter....

As for Walker, just you remember that he has the same agent as TO.... I am sick of holdouts in the nfl... you make millions, stfu and play football. He signed a damn contract, he should honor it. You can have him if hes gonna let a guy telling him to get his a$$ in camp get to him and make him never want to play for that team again, grow up....

That's exactly why I was so confused when Shanny said he saw him as a nose gaurd.

I am a Vikes fan and was also a little disappointed by their draft. I stopped watching after day 1 though. I think Greenway was a marginal pickup. He has good game instincts for the college level, but he by pro standards he is slow for an OLB(4.7 40) and he isn't all that strong(225 lbs 17 reps). Ced Griffin was a great pick, the center from New Mexico was an absolute abysmal pick. The Vikes really dropped the ball by letting the Jets trade 2 picks in front of them and grab Kellen Clemens. I think grabbing Brodie Croyle with the pick that they used on Tarvaris Jackson would have made more sense. Croyle was a leader and he looked really good on the combine film I saw and the Alabama games that I watched. Jackson is a project, who knows if he will pan out. Vikes could have traded up to get Cutler and given up the same that they gave up to get Jackson(the 2 3rd's as eluded to earlier). :bang I give them a C- and that is on the hopes that Jackson turns out to be serviceable, Greenway turns out to be awesome and the tubby center develops into a starter.

I thought my Packers did well. A.J. Hawk should make an immediate impact and will become one of the league's best linebackers. Daryn Colledge may have been the most underrated offensive lineman in the draft, but he should make an immediate impact as well. Greg Jennings won't be expected to replace Javon Walker (the itch that needed to be scratched), but should give us some depth at wide reciever. I was happy to see us draft Abdul Hodge, a player that gives us more depth at linebacker. Hodge and Hawk should see significant playing time this season. Jason Spitz adds depth to the offensive line. Cory Rodgers might improve our special teams play as a returner. We drafted Will Blackmon as a wide receiver, however I believe we intend to start him out as a defensive back. Ingle Martin was an unexpected, but welcome surprise. He was a highly recruited high school quarterback whose only mistake seemed to be that he didn't mesh with Florida. After that, the talent level in the players we drafted seemed to drop. Still, I think we got some great players with great character!

Hmmmm...I'm generally a Packers fan, but my take is a little different. The Packers have a crying need for offensive lineman - and they did almost nothing in that regard in the draft, nor in free agency. That's a fatal flaw, so far as I can tell...

As a 49ers fan, I was really disappointed in the draft after the first two picks. Vernon Davis and Manny Lawson should start and make impacts at their positions. But after that, the coaches decided to draft three recievers with the next four picks. OF those, the kid from wisconsin has good speed and is a pretty good return man, but the 49ers needed starters not return men in the third round. The fourth round pick was Micheal Robinson who was the quarterback from Penn State, i feel it was a bad pick if the organization wants him to play running back as they have announced. The fifth round pick was the defensive end from Tennessee (Harlyson) should be a good OLB in a 3-4. Then they took another reciever that was 6-6- 250 which they think they can move to fullback.

For such a lowsy team, I would think they would have drafted more starters and sure things than projects and special teams players.
