ESPN B1G Blog: For Nebraska to win big, it needs efficiency, no drama

So what exactly happened this week in the Nebraska weight room?

If you unplugged briefly on Wednesday afternoon, you likely missed it. And by nightfall, the Cornhuskers’ first potential controversy of 2016 was seemingly extinguished. After the removal from a display screen of weight-lifting and performance-testing records set in the past decade, followed by the complaints of former receiver Kenny Bell, Nebraska announced that it would restore the marks in the name of recognizing all past players.

Good idea.

Case closed. But the episode served as a reminder of the combustible nature of the football environment in Lincoln. People care enough at Nebraska to create a stink about almost anything. For the past 10 to 15 years, one mini-drama after another has dominated headlines and undermined progress.

It was tiring to watch, let alone to experience as a player or coach.

Completely agree. Get behind the team and the program and stop trying to find conspiracy plots behind everything that happens in Lincoln.

No drama huh? Well I find it pretty darn funny that all the drama that fell on the Huskers is mostly due to Bo Pelini, and his former players. I remember the big12 championship game against Texas and thought my god, the Huskers are going to be a national relevant team again. And the next thing you know, Bo Pelini self imploded, and no matter what his record was, he never could build a team that was viable and competed when it mattered. With that being said, Pelini's former player are getting their panties in a bunch because of some records that were set by questionable standards. You know Kenny you gave a lot to the University, but you also received a lot. You were able to get a FREE education. You were able to eat, sleep, and play a game you love all on the Universities dime. Maybe Kenny should stop being so detrimental to the program that gave him a chance, and respect the direction that it is going. Boyd should never be questioned on his prowess of weigh lifting. Especially by a 6-2 150 lbs receiver.

Oh i read it, I just am not ready to absolve KB just yet. A grown man should act like a man, and not a pre-teenwhoe got upset because daddy praised his big brother for doing a better job at something.

Irony.

Well to be fair this was all started by a former player, not the fans. A former player notorious for this sorta thing.
