ESPN Big Ten Prime-Time TV Schedule Discussion

This schedule looks about right with the glaring exception of September 14th. Really? ND in back to back weeks against Purdue over a Nebraska- UCLA matchup? Really? I'm biased but wouldn't they get more TV sets slamming that snoozefest into an early day slot and going with us?

Are these things written in stone once they make an announcement like this?

I love how everyone was complaining about how "hard" NU's schedule was the first 2 years of the Big 10, and now everyone is complaining about the weak schedule this year. I am not calling out anyone specific, but I saw it on Husker message boards all over the interweb.

Michigan didn't do night games because they didn't have permanent lighting. They do now. The No Night Games in November rule is the hang-up now for that game. That'll be changed soon, I imagine.

Delaney's even come out and said that if two teams wanna have a night game in November and there's a network demanding it that the conference wouldnt do anything to stand in the way, as if this so-called rule has already been lifted.

And why didn't they have lights? Because they didn't want to play at night. Its not because they couldn't afford them. And while Delany won't stand in the way, some of the teams themselves will resist. Nebraska and Penn State are the main two that really love night games. There is a bit of stodgyness within many of the programs still.
