ESPN College Gameday

Did they ever talk about Nebraska I quit watching and went somewhere after all they talked about was how good Norte Dame and USC were for a hour

the goons over at espn gameday preview show, were talking about SC having two tough games early, and i was like ok here we go...then i was shocked(but not really) they said at Ark. and at Arizona...what a crock
I was thinking the same thing....I was like" :WTH "....at least we are ranked, Arkansas and Arizona aren't even on the radar. What a bunch of honks. By the way Mark May, if your head gets any further up Herbstreits a@@, you'll be looking out his mouth.

Lets see how they sing a different tune come December.......... :restore

No. So much for a college football preview. All they talked about was Ohio State, Texas, ND, SC, a little Oklahoma, and nothing else. Great job covering the rest of the top 25.

So is it even worth it to watch the replay??
Only if you want to hear about ND/USC the whole time.. the only mention of us is when they were talking about who will Texas play in the Big 12 TG. Oh yeah, the did have a few shots of ZT during their intro and going to break, but other than that is wasn't that exciting.

That was terrible! Mark May is an idiot! I was paying attention the whole time and I'm sure I only heard the name Nebraska 1 time. They should have called it the Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Ohio St. preview show!

I have a little different take on this. I agree that all the attention was directed to Texas, USC, ND and Ohio St, but I think that is to our advantage. If the Big Red knocks off USC and then later Texas, then all the hype just propels us into the BCS bowl ratings! If they down-played the Trojans and Longhorns, then any victory over them would be lowered in the eyes of the media.

GBR - its in our hands to be great this year, NOT IN THE COMMENTS OF ESPN.

Exactly what I was thinking.

It really didn't bother me that they didn't talk about Nebraska. I mean what exactly were they going to talk about. We have a great pass rush, questionable secondary, a poor offensive line, questions at running back, no game changer at reciever. Honestly, this is what everyone outside of Nebraska sees when they look at our team. Why would anybody go into an indepth discussion about us when there are teams with less question marks out there.

Ok? We have a great D line, one of the best Linebacking corps, and we've got 4 studs at Runningback. Our QB is coming back for his senior year, and this is the most promising year so far under the Callahan regime.

You need to look at it from their point of view to understand why they didn't talk about us. They see our running game from last year finished 107th in the nation, and our leading returning rusher had under 150 yards. Sure we know that we have four backs that are great and will certainly do better than last year, but what have they proved to provide outsiders that type of assurance.

When they look at the offensive line, they see a squad that gave up 38 sacks last year and a squad that couldn't get the running game going. Sure, we know that our new starters are going to do better but what have they proved to the outsiders.

There are a lot of other problem areas that outsiders see when they look at our team. Sure we think that we have all these problems fixed, but the proof is in the pudding and right now we have yet to prove very much.
