I'm not buying A&M as a dark horse title contender. They will make a bowl game, but they're not beating both Oklahoma and Texas. You don't go from having that bad of a defense to having a defense capable of actually winning a Big 12 title in one year. 66 points to Kansas State. Enough said.

We did it. But we had Bo.

And they don't. :throwdabones1:

have said that the a&m game scares me... alot i dont know why its just one of those teams that we should beat but are good enough that it wouldnt shock me... just lke last year i knew we would lose to TT even though sweet jesus i hoped we didn't .... just think being at their place is gonna suck too

but the good news is if we boot texas out with a lose i dont really see us forgetting or blowing off a&m... as crazy as it sounds.. in fact i think we take it more seriously......

the aTm game does scare me, but we are stronger at the end of the year than the beginning. BO gets our teams playing their best because of their confidence and that comes with games. if we get that far without a loss, we are not allowing a let down. it should be an interesting year.

A&M is a team to worry about if they are starting to get that defense together, when we get down there. Right now the game that worries me the most is a long time before A&M. Washington. We won a lot of games with Crouch having to come up big a few times. Jake Locker has that same kind game presence in a game. He may not have the players around him that Nebraska has, but ........

GBR!!! :throwdabones1:

aTm only scares me on the offensive side of the ball. Bringing in a new D cordinator who is putting in a brand new system will probably hurt them this season.

I just have the feeling that A&M will be this years Okie State. A good team but they won't be able to stay with the top teams. The similarities are there, above average offense with a sketchy defense that could possibly be alright.

Of course Nebraska is in the same position, but I'd take a great defense with sketchy offense over a great offense with a sketchy defense any day.
I agree with this. Look at Georgia Tech and Cincinnati in their BCS bowls for examples.

With that being said, I can see the Huskers losing to aTm. I don't think they will, but a lot is going to happen between now and then, so who knows.

Who is the A&M we are speaking about?

One game at a time. We have no idea what we have and have no idea what anyone else has at this time

Get by Western Kentucky and then worry about the next game. We have not won a game yet, predictions at this time are a waste of time.

Play the games, concentrate on the next game and only the next game.

This is beginning to sound like 2007.

Exactly. Frankly, I can see us losing to several teams on our schedule. We haven't yet shown we're over those mental lapses that plagued us the past several seasons. With parity, there's hardly any time for a let-down. The only games I can guarantee without question that we'll win are SDSU and W. Kentucky.

I think we'll win most every game, but they have to prove to me that they're not going to have another ISU brain spasm before I get too cocky.

Wait a tic...is this the same Brian Griese we woulda schulacked for the outright title in '97? It's good to see him respecting the :bigredn: ...or at least our favorable sched.

To those who wonder why we're looking ahead to aTm - why shouldn't we? Who cares if all this hype sounds like 2007? The fact of the matter is this is 2010. Sure, we have some mental hurdles to overcome this season, but what team doesn't. We're one year more experienced, & our boys have felt the sting of losing games we should've won. As much as we're telling each other to not look too far into the future & worry about one game at a time, I gotta ask why? We are fans, not players or coaches. I say we let the coaches & players take things one game at a time.

That being said, I'm equally concerned about our trips to Washington & aTm. Those places always present tough challenges for visiting opponents, regardless of their caliber. The crowds are rowdy & loud, & the Huskers are one of those teams you always want to take down. Needless to say, we have our work cut out for us.
