Sam Keller is officially leaving Arizona State and has chosen a new school, said the quarterback’s father, Mike Keller.
The elder Keller told the East Valley (Ariz.) Tribune on Wednesday afternoon his son has decided on a new school, but wouldn’t say which one, saying that school’s sports information department wishes to handle the announcement.
Bob Coveney, Sam Keller’s stepfather, told the Journal Star that the quarterback is flying to Omaha and then heading to Lincoln, where he should arrive mid-Wednesday afternoon.
Coveney said he wasn’t aware a final decision had been made, and said Sam Keller could still visit Oklahoma on Wednesday or Thursday.

Earlier Wednesday, Coveney said Keller would decide between Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Keller has formally applied to become a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. However, he hasn’t enrolled in classes, said a spokeswoman at the registrar’s office. He has not enrolled in classes at Oklahoma, but an official at that school said she couldn’t verify whether he had applied.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Keller, a native of Danville, Calif., would join Nebraska for the 2006 season and sit out a required year, per NCAA transfer rules, using his available redshirt. He would have one season of eligibility remaining, in 2007.
Keller is leaving ASU after a bizarre sequence of events over the weekend. Coach Dirk Koetter named Keller, a senior, the starter on Friday, then changed his mind, saying he made a mistake, and tabbed sophomore Rudy Carpenter the starter on Saturday.
Nebraska football coach Bill Callahan confirmed Tuesday that Keller has been granted his scholarship release from Arizona State to Nebraska. Callahan also confirmed that Husker coaches have talked to Nebraska quarterbacks about the developing situation.
