Villas-Boas New Head Coach At Tottenham

Andre Villas-Boas has been appointed the new Tottenham head coach on a 3 year contract, as confirmed by the club. The former Chelsea boss emerged as the frontrunner during a three-week-long process that started when Spurs sacked Harry Redknapp in June.

 
Keita Leaves Barcelona

Barcelona has confirmed that Seydou Keita has decided to leave the team, with the midfielder expected to join Chinese side Dalian Aerbin. Keita is free to leave Barca, having started under 50% of their games last season.

A statement on FC Barcelona's official website reads: "Seydou Keita announced tonight that he will not continue at the club next season. Barcelona would like to thank Seydou Keita for his role at the club in the last years and wish him new professional and personal successes in the future."

Van Gaal New Coach of the Netherlands

Louis Van Gaal is the new manager of the Netherlands national side, following the post-Euro 2012 resignation of Bert Van Marwijk.

"The Dutch Royal Football Federation (KNVB) this evening reached an agreement with Louis van Gaal over his appointment as the coach of the Dutch national eleven," the KNVB said in a statement. "Van Gaal has signed a contract that will link him from August 1 this year until the end of the World Cup in 2014."

AC Milan Sells Thiago Silva To PSG; Ibrahimovic Next?

A statement on PSG's official website reads: "Thiago Silva, 27 years old, Brazilian international, from AC Milan, has this Saturday signed with Paris Saint-Germain for five seasons." The fee is reported to be in the region of $42 million with $7.5 million per, making him the second most expensive defender in the world after Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand.

AC Milan Sells Ibrahimovic To PSG

Paris Saint-Germain has announced that it has completed the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan. Ibra has signed a 3 year contract, with the French side spending a reported $23 million for the striker. Ibrahimovic has become the fourth summer signing for PSG, following the transfers of Ezequiel Lavezzi, Thiago Silva and Verratti.

 
Real Madrid Sells Fernando Gago To Valencia

Valencia has come to terms with Real Madrid over midfielder Fernando Gago, the La Liga club has confirmed. Gago arrived in Valencia on Thursday evening after the fee ($3.5 million for 4 years) and personal terms were agreed.

Gago spent the last season on loan at Roma.

Mascherano Extended Through 2016

Barcelona has announced that Javier Mascherano has officially signed a new contract with the club until 2016. He has now added 2 years to his previous deal, which was set to expire in 2014. Mascherano's release clause is now set at $100 million.

 
Liverpool Sells Aquilani To Fiorentina

Liverpool has confirmed that midfielder Alberto Aquilani has joined Fiorentina. Aquilani joined Liverpool from Roma in 2009, but he struggled with injuries and spent the following two seasons on loan with Juventus and AC Milan.

 
Salvio Leaves Atletico Madrid For Benfica

Salvio, who spent the 2010-11 campaign on loan at Benfica, has re-joined the Eagles for an undisclosed fee on a 5 year contract, which contains a buy-out clause of $60 million.

A statement on SL Benfica's official website reads: "Eduardo Salvio is the latest enhancement to the SL Benfica football team. The player, 22, is returning to a club he knows very well. After having represented the club on loan in the 2010-11 season, Salvio has now signed a contract for five years. The termination clause of the Argentina international is €60 million."

 
Suarez Signs Extension With Liverpool

A statement on Liverpool's official website reads: "Liverpool today confirmed Luis Suarez has signed a new long-term contract with the club. The Uruguayan forward committed his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on a deal on Tuesday afternoon."

 
Arsenal Signs Cazorla From Malaga

Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol has ended speculation regarding his future by penning a new 2 year contract with the club, keeping him at the Santiago Bernabeu until the end of the 2016-17 season. Albiol made just 10 appearances in the league last season, playing back-up to Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe.
