OFFICIAL: Inter Milan Signs Diego Forlan

Inter Milan has confirmed the signing of striker Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid. Forlan, 32, has signed a 2 year contract with Inter and arrives as a replacement for Samuel Eto'o.

Forlan had this to say to Inter Channel: "I speak a bit of Italian: I studied it when I was a boy and, although I've forgotten quite a bit, I hope to get it brushed up as quickly as possible...I've joined a top team and knowing a bit of the language will help me to settle more quickly and get to know Italians better - it will make my life easier. I'm happy here. Milan is a beautiful city and the Inter fans are magnificent."

 
Liverpool's Joe Cole Joins Lille On Season-Long Loan

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole has joined Lille on a season-long loan. The 29-year-old joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer. Due to injury and poor form, Cole started only 8 games last season.

"Liverpool FC announced today it had finalised a deal with Lille OSC for the loan transfer of Joe Cole," read a statement on Liverpool's official website.

"The 29-year old will now join the French champions for the remainder of the current campaign."

 
OFFICIAL: Liverpool Signs Uruguay's Sebastian Coates

Liverpool has completed the signing of Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates from Nacional. The 20 year-old is rumored to have been signed for a fee in the region of $7 million after impressing during Uruguay’s victorious Copa America campaign, winning the award for the best young player at the tournament.

A statement on Liverpool's official website said: "Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Uruguay international Sebastian Coates on a long-term contract. Coates will now link up with his international teammates ahead of their friendly in Kiev on Friday night."

Pedro Leon Returns To Getafe On Season-Long Loan

Getafe has signed former winger Pedro Leon on loan from Real Madrid for the season. Leon, 24, played for Getafe in the 2009-10 season before moving to Madrid, where he has struggled to play in the first team.

A statement issued by both clubs read: "Real CF and Getafe CF have reached an agreement for the transfer of Pedro Leon. Getafe CF may exercise the right to buy the player at the end of this season.''

 
Fernando Gago Joins Roma On Season-Long Loan

AS Roma has signed Argentina midfielder Fernando Gago on loan from Real Madrid, the Serie A club has confirmed. Gago's move to Roma could be made permanent next summer with Roma having the option to buy Gago for $6 million.

The 25-year-old joined Real Madrid from Boca Juniors in January 2007 but struggled to secure first-team action in the past 2 seasons.

 
OFFICIAL: Atletico Madrid Signs Diego On Season-Long Loan

German club Wolfsburg has announced on their website they have loaned midfielder Diego to Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian has agreed to a season-long loan just 1 year after arriving at Wolfsburg from Juventus.

Diego, who cost Wolfsburg $15.5 million, had a disappointing season last year and was deemed surplus by the club after a spat with coach Felix Magath. Spanish newspaper AS is reporting Atletico paid $3 million for Diego with a $7 million buy option at the end of the season.

 
Yossi Benayoun Leaves Chelsea For Arsenal

Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun has confirmed on his Twiter account he will sign for Arsenal on an expected loan deal following a disappointing season at Chelsea. A message on his Twitter account read: "I sign with arsenal,very happy and excited about it, but now my head is only in the game against grecce on friday,thanks for the support."

Stoke City has completed the signing of Tottenham striker Peter Crouch, for an initial fee of $10 million. Crouch's total fee could rise to $12 million depending on add-ons.

Chelsea has completed the signing of midfielder Raul Meireles from Liverpool for a fee believed to be around $15 million. The former FC Porto man has signed a 4 year contract at Stamford Bridge after playing just 1 season at Liverpool following an $11.6 million move last summer.

 
OFFICIAL: Everton Signs Royston Drenthe From Real Madrid On Season-Long Loan

Everton has announced the loan signing of Royston Drenthe from Real Madrid. Drenthe, 24, arrives on a season-long loan after failing to convince Mourinho of a place in the first team. Last season he spent time on-loan at Hercules, and after an encouraging start that included a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou against Barcelona, it soon fell apart as he refused to play because the club failed to pay his wages.

 
OFFICIAL: AC Milan Signs Palermo's Antonio Nocerino

AC Milan has signed midfielder Antonio Nocerino on a permanent transfer from Palermo, the Lega Serie A has announced. The 26-year-old has signed a 5 year contract with Milan. Milan was looking to reinforce their midfield after losing Frenchman Mathieu Flamini for six months to a knee injury earlier this month. Meanwhile, Ricardo Ferreira, a Portuguese defender signed by Milan, will reportedly move to Palermo on a co-ownership deal as part of the arrangement.

Nocerino made 38 league appearances for Palermo last season.

Rafael van der Vaart Out 6 Weeks With Torn Hamstring

Tottenham has suffered a major blow after learning Rafael van der Vaart will miss at least 6 weeks with a torn hamstring he picked up against Manchester City.

"It's the last thing we need. It's a bad injury. He was in good form for us," Spurs boss Harry Redknapp told The Sun.
