Andres Iniesta Out 4 Weeks With Torn Hamstring

A statement on FC Barcelona's official website reads: "In the 38th minute of the game the midfielder, in an individual action, felt pain in his left leg and called to be substituted. Cesc Fàbregas came on in his place. Andrés Iniesta was subjected to a series of medical tests and the verdict is a torn femoral biceps in his left leg. The time of recovery is approximately four weeks."

Ricardo Carvalho Given 1 Year Ban From Portuguese National Team

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has announced that Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho will be unable to play for his country's national team for the next 12 months.

The 33-year-old walked out of the national side's training camp last month without explanation after learning he would not start in a Euro 2012 qualifier against Cyprus.

Later that day, Carvalho issued a statement to announce his retirement from the national team.
