The duo picked up the injuries in Real Madrid's 1-0 loss against Levante on Sunday and will be out of action for 2 weeks.
A statement on Real Madrid's official website reads: "Pepe and Coentrao underwent medical tests on Monday to determine the extent of their injuries after the match in Valencia. These were the results: Pepe: fibrilar tear on the semimembranosus muscle of the left leg. Coentrao: fibrilar tear on the soleus muscle of the left leg."
Claudio Ranieri Officially Announced As New Inter Milan Coach
Claudio Ranieri has been unveiled as the new coach of Inter, replacing Gian Piero Gasperini who was fired earlier this week following Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at Novara.
A statement on Inter's official website reads: "Claudio Ranieri has officially become the new coach of Inter. He has signed a contract binding him to the club until 30 June 2013. Everyone at F.C. Internazionale has the pleasure of welcoming Claudio Ranieri and his staff and wishing them well."
Ranieri had been out of work since leaving Roma in February 2011.
AC Milan's Pato Out 4 Weeks With Injured Hamstring
AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato is set to miss 4 weeks after being injured in the 1-1 draw with Udinese on Wednesday. Pato was substituted in the 21st minute after limping off the field with an apparent hamstring injury.
A statement on Milan's official website reads: "A.C Milan wishes to announce that the tests undertaken by Alexandre Pato have revealed a muscle contraction in the player's right thigh. The player is expected to be out for at least 4 weeks."
