Neymar Signs New Contract With Santos

Neymar has signed a new deal with Santos, ending months of speculation he was set for a move to La Liga. The 19-year-old was previously thought to be in a tug-of-war between Barcelona and Real Madrid, but he has negotiated a new deal with Santos. The contract duration, which currently runs until the 2014 World Cup, is not affected, but the Brazilian will receive a substantial pay rise as well as an increase in the buy-out clause.

The Brazilian is expected to earn around $1.2 million per month and his buy-out clause, believed to be around $45 million, will increase as well.

Tevez Will Not Appeal Fine For Refusing To Warm Up Against Bayern Munich

Carlos Tevez will not be appealing Manchester City's 2 week fine for misconduct after he refused to warm up during the club's Champions League match at Bayern Munich. The Argentine had originally been given a 4 week fine before the Professional Footballers’ Association backed the striker and reduced the fine to 2 weeks, claiming the situation was not the same as refusing to play.

Tevez was told last week he would be allowed to rejoin City's first team squad if he apologized to Mancini and his teammates, but rejected the offer and will continue to train on his own. Tevez has not featured in City's first team since the incident.
