Ever vomited blood?

I was out drinking with a buddy the other night and he threw up blood on the sidewalk outside the bar. I told him that it is not normal to vomit blood , but he just blew it off and we kept drinking. Could he have a serious health problem?

I eat raw meat...so I always puke up blood.

I have a cousin that would puke up blood sometimes the next day after a night of heavy drinking. I always thought it was because she puked so much that the was nothing inside her stomach and it was just a result of the dry heaving...but then again...I'm no doctor.

if you puke hard enough that it feels like your pulling out your toenails from the inside you rip your esophagus or gastro-esophageal junction. for what it's worth
