EVERYBODY COMMENT ON THIS

If they think Memorial Stadium isn't like it used to be they weren't at the f'ing Texas game. I still have to have hearing therapy from that game!!! :hellloooo

I couldn't care less about this as I am not that big of a gamer.

But I do agree that Memorial is\was tough to play in because of the teams, not necessarily the fans. It could be much more intimidating than it is..

It could be, but you'd have to put an age limit on the ticket holders. Either that, or make an "old people" section with all recliners where they can all sit down. I hate when people tell me to sit down. If I wanted to sit and be quiet I'd stay home.

:yeah The only bad thing about going to a Husker game imo.

Okay I am pi$$ed.

None of you are old enough to appreciate the game. I want a small section for you so you can stand and watch the game, the rest of us will set and be silent. Sound about right?

Us old farts that may not be able to stand the whole game still love this program far more than some of you can even fathom. The key is they and I made this program what it is. Not you. Put in your time. Some of us have more days in Husker Red than you have alive. Still here waiting for the next game. One day no matter how friggen wonderful you are the knees or the ankles will say I can not do this anymore. I hope when that day comes someone picks up your ticket and sends you home, because you don't stand you are not as good of a Nebraska fans as the young college freshman of 2055. The days are coming boys, but the love of the game and the program never go away.

Respect your elders, as you will be one eventually.

Oh good lord. You're no more important than any other fan, I don't give a crap how old you are. If the people around you want to stand and you can't, tough. Take your sense of entitlement somewhere else.

You have no more entitlement than anyone else. That's the point.

One might say the seats are there for a reason.

I stand the whole game still but if I have someone behind that has a problem with it I let them see the game they paid for, I judge the scene, not the person.

Manners are the question. Were you taught them or not? The game is not about you standing and cheering it is about the game being played. You are no more important to the game than my 95 year ald grandfather that attended every home game from the date he graduated until he died.

Without those old folks that have bought tickets year in and out your record of sell outs would not be here. We are known as the best fans because of our knowlege of the game, our respect for our opponents and our class to their fans. It has nothing to do with a bunch of drunks screaming at the top of their lungs. Grow up and smell the coffee.

Your previous post indicates to me you DO have a sense of entitlement.

Without those old folks that have bought tickets year in and out your record of sell outs would not be here.
OOOPS! There it is AGAIN! And that's not true anyway. Someone else would've bought those tickets. I went to games for 10 years and after that I quit going because I figured I had my fun, I may as well let someone else enjoy the games. So not only do you have a sense of entitlement, you're also very selfish. I'll bet you're a baby boomer, because your attitude sure fits the profile.

Answer the question. Why do you have anymore right to be there than I or anyone else.

Oh and it is very much true. The growth of the stadium is totally based on fan base, and the realistic expectation of filling it every week. You kick out every one over 45 and you sell out streak ends instanly. Purely business my young man.

The comment was made we need to limit the age of ticket owners.

I said I have every right to be there, just as you do or anyone else. There are no stipulations as to who can be a fan or not be a fan. There are no age or yelling requirements.

I am as progressive as any of you youngsters and any on the board that know me know that. I partied with a bunch of them at the SC & Texas game. I doubt one would say I have an old timers attitude. Manners/respect, a trait all fans should have.

I am 60, so yess I am a baby boomer. We were taught to respect people, treat people as you would want to be treated. Sorry if those ideas bother you.

You have the right to be there, but you don't have the right to demand how others around you act just because you've been going longer than them. And the fact that you claim that boomers were taught to "respect" other people is laughable. I'd love to rip that comment to shreds, but this thread already getting far enough off topic, so I'll save it.

Some day you will understand. Everyone does.

Your comments work both ways. You have no right to blatenly stand in front of them telling the to shut up either. Manners/respect when you learn the meaning we can discuss this further.

I will respect your right to your opinion

Skersfan, no matter what the particular circumstances are, please don't use condescending phrases like "someday you will understand" because it is infuriating to whoever you're talking to. It makes it seem as if your point of view is the only valid viewpoint in the world, and all who have a different angle simply cannot grasp your lofty viewpoint. This will also ensure that the offended person will probably disregard any key points that you have made. I don't even disagree with your comments, I'm just saying...

That aside, it is clear that whoever wrote this article is unknowledgeable about the atmosphere present on gamedays. The author was just going off of numbers of wins and stadium capacity. For example, the "Big House" at Michigan is routinely panned as quiet, lethargic, and empty-feeling. The mention of Notre Dame's stadium was an obligatory nod, merely because they are Notre Dame.

Still, how they could miss NU with our astounding sellout record is beyond me. I believe we also own the second longest home winning streak in the history of college football. I cannot remember how many games it was, but it was during the mid-late 90's (obviously). I think Miami has the longest.
