Ex-Husker Thenarse ready to be coaching example

Rickey Thenarse called his first team meeting last week.
In a cramped weight room they gathered -- about 30 boys who live in a neighborhood considered by many outsiders as being home to guns, gangs, violence.

The former Husker defensive back scanned faces. He'd been where they'd been. He'd once doubted just like they were doubting now.

And as he stood there on his second day on the job, a high school head football coach at age 23, a thought came to Thenarse: God put me here.

pretty good article. that is the type of attitude i want to see coming out of the program and that is why i think Bo will have his job for a long while even if he doesnt win the big one for a long while.
