Milton, FL -- A Perry man didn't think tossing a World War Two-ear hand grenade was probably the best idea.
John Miller saw two people playing with the grenade Monday. He took it from them and brought it to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.
The device was unearthed from a construction crew.
The State Fire Marshall's Office was contacted, which then brought in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team from Hurlburt Field.
The EOD Team retrieved the grenade from the front seat of Miller's pickup truck. The team then took it to a remote location and exploded the device.

Card game ends in four deaths by grenade.
Beijing -- Four people died in northeast China after a dispute over a game of cards ended in bloodshed when one of the players returned with a hand grenade which later exploded, state media said Saturday.
The four were playing cards on Wednesday in Meihekou city in Jilin province when a quarrel broke out, said the Beijing Times. One of the group later returned with a hand grenade and it went off during a scuffle.
Three people died on the spot while the fourth died in hospital the next day, it said. Two passers-by were also slightly injured by the blast.
