When a home team falls behind by 17 fricking points in the 2nd quarter to a team that is double digit dogs, the crowd is going to get quiet. It happens, AT EVERY SINGLE STADIUM IN THE COUNTRY, even in the NFL. It's called momentum. It's not pathetic Nebraska fans or an anomoly by any means. It's normal status quo. Everythings fine.
In fact, the crowd noise, even from 85 rows up was ear ringing. I'll admit I dont do my part. I love it as loud as can be, but I just cant yell like I used. My throat just wont take it anymore and I get light headed, so I make my tad bit of noise by clappin. But this game was awesome. I dont miss big games, and very very few can rank with this one in terms of noise. Oklahoma '09? Not even close, and we sat low for that one. Oklahoma '01? Maybe Crouch's TD, MAYBE. Maybe a couple big ones in the 90's. Ohio St. last year not even in the same conversation. But it was probably that fact that the OSU comeback happened last year that kept the crowd in it this year, because we still knew we had that glimmer of hope.
Watching the game on tv now, the crowd is 90's loud. Loudest crowd noise broadcast I have watched since before the pressbox renovation in 99. Before that, the tv cameras were on platforms out from the balcony, so they were down and in the stadium a bit, and more susceptible to the noise. After 99, they were moved out and above the club seat balcony, away from the noise more, and the crowd noise has seemed quieter on tv since. But this broadcast is comparable to 90's videos, and there's even a camera shake or two from some of the ground cameras. It was great.
