Thanks for the memories, good and bad. It was a hell of a ride. Good luck to you in the future. :thumbs

Nebraska football ends their 15 year membership in the Big 12 as the 3rd best team behind Texas and Oklahoma. Not bad considering we went through 3 major coaching changes and 2 losing seasons during that period of time.

Nebraska's head-to-head record:

11-1 vs. Baylor

48-18-2 vs. Colorado

84-15-2 vs. Iowa State

88-18-3 vs. Kansas

77-15-3 vs. Kansas State

60-33-3 vs. Missouri

38-45-3 vs. Oklahoma

37-5-1 vs. Oklahoma State

4-10 vs. Texas

10-4 vs. Texas A&M

7-4 vs. Texas Tech

Overall Conference Records 1996-2010

Texas 93-32 (.744)

Oklahoma 92-35 (.724)

Nebraska 83-43 (.658)

Texas Tech 69-51 (.575)

Kansas State 70-53 (.569)

Texas A&M 65-57 (.532)

Colorado 61-63 (.491)

Missouri 58-64 (.475)

Oklahoma State 55-65 (.458)

Good Bye Big XII, I'll miss the old Big Eight teams, the others...not so much. :hmmph

Hope the Sooners win the majority of future Big XII championships.

Now onto the Big Ten and GO BIG RED!

:bigredn:

Best of luck. The Huskers will make that conference a lot more interesting once you are playing there next year. I still wish it didn't happen, but that is life.

Sigh...if only the big12 had competent non-texas leadership....i was excited for the big10 but now we leave with unfinished business. Good luck to KU as I hope Turner can turn things around. Good luck to OU always had respect for you. The rest of the conference and go to hell.

Besides OU and Kansas, I won't miss the Big XII at all. Would love to have a regular schedule with these two teams. Won't happen though.

Im excited as ever to go the BigTen, new teams to play, new rivalries. I hate change as much as others, but with the way things have gone down the last couple weeks, im ready to leave.

However Im gonna miss those day road trips to KState, Iowa State and KU. Met alot of people and had some good times.

While I know there are some real upsides to a Big 10 membership, I think the distance is going to be a real negative. It will be much harder to make road games in the future. I do think Iowa will become the real rival, due to being the neighboring state and the best drive (while still not a good one). Your uniforms even contrast well with theirs :)
