Favorite Cover Tunes

Nothing Compares 2 U is one of my favorite all time songs, and technically it's a cover of a Prince song. I've seen Chris Cornell do an acoustic version of the song that was really cool.

Also, a lot of people don't know that I Will Always Love You from Whitney Houston was originally a Dolly Parton song.
Everyone knows that it was a cover...

Anyone who remembers the move Wizard remembers Send Me an Angel, theres a cover by Thrice I really liked.

Nonpoint's cover of In the Air Tonight was decent. Hard to top Phil Collins.

"Try A Little Tenderness" dates back to the 30s and was covered many times by very white people such as Ray Noble and his Orchestra, and Bing Crosby.

Then Otis Redding comes along and destroys all other versions and completely owns the song.

Turns out that song is like a lot like a Kardashian -- it's only really happy with some black in it

When I was in college, a group of friends who threw some parties would always play the Afghan Whigs. They were an ok band, but they did have a great cover of TLC's "Creep."

Basically, if it's a good song, it can probably sound good, no matter who is playing it, or the arrangement they use.

Ryan Adams does a TON of great covers. He's a good search on YouTube. He covered Taylor Swift's entire 1989 album, and his versions are pretty cool. He makes the songs less "poppy".
