Currently, no. But Baseball was a money maker during the halcyon days, and it's why we got a couple of NCAA hosting bids that we wouldn't had received otherwise--we were one of a dozen or so Baseball programs that generated income, and the NCAA remembers this. The volleyball program is more important, and it actually makes $, unlike baseball, last time I checked.I would argue that the volleyball program is more important to the University, and more widely supported by fans than the baseball team. I'd put baseball at #4 behind football, volleyball, and men's basketball.
Whether they are the flagship program or not, I'm happy for the guys! Congrats Huskers!!!
