International Man of Mystery
Nebraska comes in at #1, with all but one first-place vote (according to Jeff Sheldon of the OWH, the other #1 vote was likely a mistake by the coach of High Point college).

The final list:

1 Nebraska (63)

2 Texas

3 Minnesota

4 Kansas

5 Southern California (1)

6 Washington

7 Hawai'i

8 Florida

9 Penn State

10 Wisconsin

11 BYU

12 UCLA

13 Ohio State

14 Stanford

15 Illinois

16 Loyola Marymount

17 Purdue

18 Texas A&M

19 Creighton

20 Florida State

21 Louisville

22 Western Kentucky

23 Colorado State

24 Michigan

25 North Carolina

Others Receiving Votes

26 San Diego

27 Missouri

28 Kentucky

29 Michigan State

30 Arkansas State

31 Arizona

32 American

33 Long Beach State

34 Wichita State

35 Marquette

36 Iowa State

Some interesting takeaways:

Nebraska's four losses were to the eventual #2 team (Texas, in September), #3 team (Minnesota in November), #10 team (Wisconsin just after the Minnesota loss), and to the #13 team (in five games, the night after beating then-#1 Penn State on the road).

Among Nebraska's six tournament wins were victories over:

#34 Wichita State

#11 BYU

#6 Washington

#4 Kansas

#2 Texas

Nebraska lost their first game of the tournament against Harvard, trailing 0-1 in the match. After that loss, they went 18-2 in their next 20 games, including 3-0 sweeps of Wichita State, BYU and Texas.

Who in the blue hell gave USC a first place vote?
Jason Oliver, Head Coach of High Point University. His top five ballot:

1. U.S.C.

2. Washington

3. Texas

4. Minnesota

5. Nebraska

This is why coaches polls need to be done differently. Obviously whomever is the person on his staff that actually fills out the poll just resubmitted what they had from before the tournament. Lazy.

Or may have reversed the order: 5 being 1 and 4 being 2 ....etc

Possible but unlikely. Consider that USC was a solid #1 for most of the last half of the season, and going into the tournament.

His top-25 submission was exactly the same as his pre-tournament submission. It was either an accident or laziness (I'm going with accident), but he didn't mistake the order or anything.
