okay i know this is overreacting. but when we just give up more points than we ever have in THE FREAKIN HISTORY of the program, somethin is wrong.

our talent is not this bad. tech is NOT this good. THIS is freakin ridiculous. :steam

 
Yes I know this is what SP used as his reason for firing Solich... but that doesnt mean I think he should be canned. He needs time. But damn Joe D just isnt the answer. I wish he was i like him and think hes a great student of the game... etc., but crap man he just makes horrible decisions. but holy sh#t beau davis?!! ay yay ay.

 
Come on Bob, Bill was a "lucky" find in the first place for SP. He may be lucky to win 9 games in his first TWO years.... This SUCKS!!! Thanks Steve!!

 
agreed. personally if this staff fails I wish ONLY steve could be fired. you are so right the f'd up part is he stumbled backwards into callahan.

 
Firing anyone isnt the answer here. And its not going to happen so dont get your hopes up. Callahan and co wont go until Steve goes, and that wont be happening for quite a while. But wow you do make a good point Steves claim was that we will not surrender the big 12 and get blown out again...

 
Altho I dont believe anyone should be fired for one game.. what if this continues?? B/c lets be real here guys we were straight dominated from bell to bell. just got plain blown out. our playres didnt even look in the game. either they were pumped up, or they werent coached well enuf to be in the game. either way this is a coaching issue.

I hate to say it but damn I would love to see a little more emotion on the sideline outta callhan. man i really miss seeing a Pelini or someone with some fire over there getin our guys back in the game.

Our talent is that bad - for the kind of offense it faced. Precisely the right offense to expose the defense's weaknesses. They flood the defense with receivers, make quick drops and throws, and always have an outlet. That means that they will make receptions, and usually be in a position to run with it afterwards. The only way to counter that is with a defense fast enought to close and tackle, or with a defensive line that can beat the offensive line off the ball, or both.

 
It was so bad, I even left the TV (with the Tivo on) and went to Hollywood Video late in the third quarter.

Coach C will be at NU for a while, and things may get a whole lot worse before they get better. I don't think it will happen, but this could implode like an old-time Vegas casino.

Dailey and Davis will be our Qbs for the year, with a slim possibility of an Adams or Goodman sighting. Makes me long for the years with Grant, Clayton, Joseph, and Berringer.

We need to understand that we are not getting the best players, didn't get them, but might have several arrive next year. Kids are excited about the Corn Coast, and after tonight's loss, talented seniors at high schools all over the US are moving Nebraska up their list because they know they can play D and tackle better than we did tonight-thereby playing sooner than they might at USC, Ohio State, Florida State, etc.

So while we didn't look great tonight, and maybe even terrible, the windfall of talent could be worth the pain. I hope it is.

Well now we dont have to worry about surrendering the big 12 to texas as we are not going to play in the Big 12 Championship or have to worry about going to a bowl game period less they have a toilet bowl?

For those that think this is all due to Solich players, the team played bad thats a fact. But to me it looked like they were ill prepaired to play, correct me if im wrong but that is a problem with the coaching.

On the O side

Dailey just isnt at a college level and I dont think he will ever really be at this level.

The west coast o is suppose to play to each players strength, now in a way this seems to be working Dailey is very good at throwing picks and is on pace to break the carrier INT record in a single season.

What happened to the FB? Nebraska has one of the best running back stables in the ncaa, what do they do block. with the occasional run to set up another string of pass plays.

Im getting really tired of all the Raider fans at work for thanking me as a Nebraska fan for taking Callahan, ponder I wonder why.

Once again, give it up and come up with some real commentary.

 
Callahan is TERRIBLE, SP is Terrible... However...

If they would have hired Bo, then I would have been much happier. How in the hell are you going to install the west coast craptastic offense, into a system that's been running the ball, successively, might I add, since christ was a corporal...

He needs to get the hell outta nebraska...

You do it with the right players and time. We have time,whether you want to admit it or not, but we don't have all the right players yet. Don't tell me it's not possible because that's BS.

I found myself flipping channels and not caring if I missed a play or two in between commercials.

 
I just don't get where Callahan is going to come in, and improve things with an offense that is radically different from what we've been running for eons...

Does he think he's the "offensive genius" that is going to bring us to the promised land...

I think not...

Callahan has to go, bottom line. They've hosed themselves when they didn't hire Pelini, who I thought would have been the best choice...
