Fluellen to DB?

Is it true that Fluellen was moved to DB? If it is, I don't know if I like that move, what is he actually going to bring to the table in the secondary. I guess maybe just to have an extra body back there but I don't see him playing ahead of West, Thenarse or some of the others that we brought in.

Yeah but we need bodies in the defensive backfield and we are deeper at WR. Maybe he can be like Troy Brown from the Pats.

i read in an article yesterday that Callahan and Co asked him if he would like to give it a try, and he said he would do inything to help. Is it a permanent move????

at this point it might just be an experiment.

This might be his only opportunity to get on the field, so I think he will keep it. I don't think he will play at all at WR.

He has the speed to play WR or DB. His hands have been a Question though. Depth in the secondary is also needed.

Hands have been a question at WR. That means for a DB they will be great. Most DB's don't have good hands, and that is sometimes the reason that is their position.

Yep...if anything else, he will be great at swattin' them balls down. It sucked to see him drop so many passes that were right to him. They went down off his hands like they hit a brick wall.

Or they'd rather hit than be hit...

I just don't see him making the field at all. If he is going to get in the game at all I figured it would be at the position where he has been the past four years. We are in need of a deep threat and that is the one thing that Fluellen could do well, just run fast down the field. His route running was always rather poor. If he can't run the proper routes, then how is he suppose to pick up the tells on the reciever on what routes they are running. I would rather take our lumps with a mistake from a young West or Thenarse than a senior that will not benefit from it.

I remember Isiah Fluellen tearing up the field with some great runs...he's fast. And a junior, I believe? ... Or...was that Mark Leflore? Or...I'm so confused x_x After the West Coast shakeup, I've completely lost track of the receiver scene, who's who, and all.
