Defend this story? Why would anyone defend it? Just cause he played football at Nebraska doesn't mean he's some sort of saint....

 
Just because someone once played for the Huskers doesnt mean they cant be the scum of the earth. Football players can be total dirtballs. I hate it when it's a current or former Husker though.

Well...let's do the math. Wiggins was a Freshman in the 94-95 season. So he would have been recruited as a high schooler around 92, 93, 94. People in high school are generally 18 and under, which is a minor.

Alford played around 92-94. So if the team had Alford go and talk to receiver and tight end recruits, or recruits visited campus and met with Alford....he probably played with Wiggins too.

Oh....you mean were they on the same team during college??? Sorry....the 'play with' confused me.

Unfortunately most prisons don't put mol's and rapists in with the general population. They are on the bottom of the prison food(a$$?) chain. Probably wouldn't last very long 1-2 days and out go the lights.

 
Not defending the guy by any means. But this happened out here a few years ago. A whole pre school was closed down, every single male employee was accused of molestation. It took about two years to get to trail. As it turned out nothing every happened. An over zealous case worker convinced the kids they were molested. Totally detroyed many peoples lives.

Lets wait till he is proven guility to pass jugement on him. If he is guilty, and put away he won't last long anyway.

Wiggins was with a 16 year old girl that told him she was over 18. By all that saw her, no one thought she was 16. Mistakes are made, Shevin payed the price for it, but no where near the same thing as this.

Often, we do not agree. However, this is one time we do. Innocent until proven guilty. I'd assume there was some physical evidence to support that the 12 year old girl was assaulted. However, when case workers do get involved they are like a lawyer leading a witness into confessing something that may not have happened or may not have happened in the manner they are describing. I'm assuming the girl was assaulted, but none of us know whether or not Alford was the assaulter. Typically in assault cases, the assault is performed by a family memeber. I didn't get anything from this that Alford is a family member.

Yeah, Kobe was a stretch but so is Wiggins. If I remember right didn't Marcus Vick have the same thing happen to him when he was at VT? I believe an underage girl told him she was 18 or 19, but she was really like 16. I guess in each case they should have asked for ID, but then again they weren't exactly selling liquor to them.

After reading posts here, I can see why finding a jury is so tough. Most of you see sexual assault and 12 year old girl and automatically assume he's guilty. Let the courts muddle through the muck before you send him to the gas chamber.

Not in Texas! They are put in general population and left to fend for themselves! I guess living in this state isn't so bad! :clap
