I have been to numerous ISU games in Ames since I went to college in Central Iowa. One thing I can say about gameday is Ames, is that there is never a shortage of partying and having a good time. Even when ISU was absolutey horrible there was never a bad time. The college football expierence will never compare to Lincoln, but Ames is not a bad place to party and watch football either. Any one else have any good expierences in Ames?

Nope...never.... <_<

I am hoping for a good time this weekend. This will be my first and the way it sounds it will be a blast, as long as the alums from ISU that we are going with don't mind the N on our shirts.

I've been to a night game. Lots of drinking before hand. Lets' just say I had an AWESOME time. Except for me having to sit next to some drunk bad guy ISU fans that actually pushed me out of my seat cause they thought I had a fake ticket. Worked out in my favor anyway, I sat in better seats with some Husker fans.

I'll be there this weekend. Usually it's always so cold at jack trice you have to get drunk so you don't feel it! Looks like saturday will be cool, but not as bad as normal!

Usually the fans are friendly, but the students can give you a hard time. All in all, its a fun time!

You might get a little ribbing here and there, most of it from the students, but the partying will no doubt be worth it. It used to be a lot better when the whole south parking lot was open, now it is flush with some nature thing <_< I didn't know there were so many hippies at ISU

:sarcasm C'mon Cy, Jack Trice is fun, they have real stadium lights now

and i won't want to forget all those punks, got hit with a beer bottle by a passing car about 6 years ago..that was cool...andsome fan knocked a pizza box outta my ahnd as i was walkin to the hotelt he night beofre the game!!!

not defending anyone, but that crap happens everywhere, I have seen ribbing in Lincoln also, if every game atmosphere was all lovey dovey it would be totally lame, but personal attacks are uncalled for and juvenile. That said, if anyone is going to Ames this weekend, have fun and don't shy from supporting the boys! GBR

I've lived in Iowa all my life and I've never gone to a game in Ames. I've been to alot of high school stadiums though so it has to be the same......................... <_<

:nutz like i said, for the true college expierence nothing beats Lincoln, for drunken Iowa kids being themselves Ames is the place to be :wasted

Last time I was in Ames an ISU coed punched me in the face.
I would be ashamed to be an Iowan if that was totally unprovoked. Like i said, not taking sides or anything, myself being a Husker fan, i have been to many ISU-NU games and had a blast. If you can't take the ribbing you shouldn't go. A couple of years ago at NU-ISU in Lincoln a good friend (ISU Grad) sat with me in the north endzone wearing gold sticking out like a sore thumb, he got harrased by many, but it only took 1 husker fan to put an end to it and the jerks quit the rest of the game. Happens everywhere man, people are just plain jerks.

It was all in good fun until she punched me. No big deal, we just laughed it off and her boyfriend made her leave. I was really shocked that it actually happened I couldn't help but laugh.
