I wasn't alive then...but I do know a bit from video and others of how that game in '82 played out. I think the shirt is a bit funny. heheThese shirts are asinine. The people who would buy them either weren't alive in 1982 or have forgotten the significance of that game. The McCloskey Call prevented Nebraska from playing for a National Championship.
Penn State lost a game. And frankly, the call was FAR less controversial.
This shirt also ignores the fact that the ensuing TD catch in 1982 wasn't a catch - he trapped the ball. So back-to-back plays screw Nebraska out of a National Championship, and Penn State lost the chance to take a three-point lead with nine minutes left in the game and a surging Husker team getting the ball back.
I made the same points in another thread soon after the game. Absolutely NO comparison. These shirts are asinine. The people who would buy them either weren't alive in 1982 or have forgotten the significance of that game. The McCloskey Call prevented Nebraska from playing for a National Championship.

used to be an advertisement link but not any more.He didn't post a link and say "hey, buy this!" It's just a picture. Hardly spamming.
I edited out the link. We sell t-shirts here, so anyone linking to t-shirt sales is going to get their link axed. But aside from that, feel free to make as many pertinent threads as you'd like.Exactly. I waited 2 years to start spamming.Board rules --- #6 - No Spamming![]()
Or I could post an NEWS article just talking about a shirt that people are selling because of the controversy that occurred recently.
EDIT: Although I guess someone edited out the news article. Guess since I'm not a Husker fan, I can't make threads here.
