And once the games start, Ressa said, fans will see another Beck strength — an innate ability to call a game and make adjustments.

“He’s going to find an answer for whatever the defense is doing,” Ressa said. “Give him a series, let him get a feel, then get him into some situation-type areas and, man, he’s going to call a good game.”

I can't wait to see what our offense looks like this season.

Agreed, something watson couldnt get a grasp on.

I really like the sound of making the offense easy for players to understand,execute and play ball, not have to think too much or out think.

We could see some nice results early in the year as the offense gets in rythme.

 
this article actually reminds me a lot of the articles written about Pelini when we hired him

 
This is interesting rhetoric that makes me even more curious about where we are headed offensively.

Maybe we'll start seeing some more diversity in the types of QBs we are recruiting. Or maybe it's just sweet talk. Too early to tell.

I'm confused...I thought Bo was the one that was forcing the spread option system event though it was obvious, we didn't have the players yet to fit the system he wanted?

Bo has three years of his recruits on campus. If he doesn't have the players available to run the system he wants to run, that's a colossal failure on his part.

Not true.

In 2008, we tried to be a smashmouth running team (i-form, power running) and it wasn't working. We switched mid season to a spread 50/50 run/pass team halfway through the season and started putting up the points.

In 2009, we tried to be a more multiple offense (power run with spread passing) and injuries/bad coaching/poor QB play forced us to go to into an offensive shell.

In 2010, we finally have the QB to run a true spread option offense, which is what Bo said he wanted to do when he was hired. TM gets hurt, OC proves that he can't adjust (or call this offense) and we tank the second half of the season.

In 2011, I would say we look for something more like a Florida/Oregon mix, with less reliance on one play (the ZR). We've got speed. Now we need Beck to use it.

 
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but this is just an off-season fluff piece. Beck really doesnt have much of a resume and it appears Bo is taking a flyer with this one. If this experiment with an uproven offensive coordinator doesnt produce results within two seasons we will be going through another coaching search.
