I don't have to walk my cat when it is raining, snowing, below zero (like this morning), or am running late for work (like this morning).

We can go away for a weekend, and all I have to do is put out another litter box and food plate.

Cats don't slobber.

Dogs in a landslide. Only reason I could think of a cat being better is if you have to leave for the day, heck or a week, you could probably leave the cat alone for the entire time and it would be fine.
