Fred Hoiberg To Be Named Next Nebraska Coach

Hoiberg's top recruiter at Iowa St was TJ Otzelberger who is now the head coach at Mike Daum's South Dakota St. Were some that were not excited about TJ at SDSU due to the type of players ISU was bringing in. Any thoughts on who he'd bring in as assistants?

Hoiberg doesn’t get along with Jamie Pollard. Iowa State played in a tournament in Hawaii and their flight home was canceled/delayed and Pollard wouldn’t pay for rooms for the team to stay in and they had to sleep in the conference rooms at the airport.

Assuming Hoiberg is as close to a done deal as humanly possible, I doubt he reneges simply because ISU opens up at 11:59th minute.

We need to lose on Sunday. If we don't then Moos needs to still come out with the details. The longer this drags on, the more chance there is for something to go wrong.

You're totally right on Pollard. Thank you for bring that up (makes me feel better)!

Legally he can't do that.
Why not?

If Hoiberg has signed a contract, I don't see a legal issue in announcing.  But I also don't see a reason to announce while the team is still playing with Miles as coach.

If he hasn't signed anything yet, then there is nothing to announce.

No AD is going to come out and say “we talked to coaches X, Y, and Z about our job opening.”  Because if he did no coaches would ever do business with him again.

We just need Iowa State to last longer than Nebraska. If ISU keeps winning, there coach wont leave mid-tourney for a job.

Fred isnt going to wait for another job plus as mentioned elsewhere, I would bet he signed that "agreement" thing.

I am certainly not that worried about it.

Plus if the rumors are true about $4 Million Per. Iowa State isn't paying that.
