Friday Night Lights

Both the movie and the series are based on the book by the same name. I highly recommend the book - as with most movies or series, the book is far more detailed and vibrant. An excellent read.

 
I thought it was ok. It's great to have a football show every week, but I think this one is just too predictable. West Texans love football out there, but the days of shutting down towns (like back in the late 80's) are long gone.

 
I can't imagine shutting our town down for a football game!!!! I mean obviously ours is a lot bigger than towns in West Texas, but you get the point. ;) Thanks for the info on the book AR I may have to go and pick that up... :thumbs

The WR/QB for that team played for Troy when they came to town. Also the QB is the brother of the starting QB at Alabama.

As far as Friday Night Lights, I agree with whoever said it was predictable. My wife called it as soon as they showed the back-up QB. I still thought it was pretty good though. As far as new shows go the Nine was pretty solid.

 
Thought the show was pretty good. My fav show right now is "The Office" though. I love that show. Steve Carrel is great, but Friday Night Lights isn't too bad either.

 
How can a show like this not be predictable?? It is a good show and I hope it stays on, but after one season how much new stuff can they get???

The book is an excellent read!!!! Another book about football is the one about the team out in Cali....Cal Poly??? I can't remember the title of the book, but it was very good.

 
I have yet to read the book, but want to. I haven't watched the show "Lost", but I don't know how they are able to keep it going, but they do. I think FNL will be the same way. New players come in, new challenges. Hopefully a star player doesn't get hurt every year though. That would get annoying.

 
I thought the show last night was amazing. It makes me want to see it right away. Great show, and I hope they keep it going.
