From Michigan free board.

Is Brady Hoke even that great of a coach? At Ball State, before Hoke's arrival they were 5-6 in 2000; 5-6 in 2001; and 6-6 in 2002. Under Hoke, they were 4-8 in 2003; 2-9 in 2004; 4-7 in 2005; and 5-7 in 2006. It would appear to me that Ball State actually got worse under Hoke his first four years. I realize he has Michigan ties, but I would think Michigan would go for a little more splash than Hoke.

 
Hoke is UM alum, and was a defensive coach at UM. I'm sure thats pretty appealing to the boosters, someone that knows defense.

its weird know that they offered bo at least a chance for an interview. its kinda a slap in the face to us.

Rumorville was 90% full of trash though. Carl and his mistresses, etc. IMO there's a difference between rumors and legitimate speculation (that actually pertains to football). Will Bo end up at Michigan? No. But could the Michigan vacancy impact his status at NU? Certainly. I don't see the harm in discussing it. It's no different than projecting the draft spots of our top prospects IMO - all speculation...but they are are going to the NFL and they will be picked somehwere. Bo is leaving NU eventually and he'll coach somewhere. When/where is up in the air, but Bo has been tied to a number of jobs this season considering he didn't even lead a top 25 team.

We didn't hear it last year after finishing strong at #14. Why are we hearing it so much this year after a pathetic finishing stretch to end up out of the top 25? (assumption) Going off memory here, but you don't see Bielema getting named for every big opening. Haven't really heard Dantonio mentioned much. No one is really after Chris Peterson, Beamer, Pinkle, Gundy, etc. All have produced top 25 teams recently. Why? Because Peterson is content at Boise, Bielema has a great thing going at Wisconsin, Pinkle is settled at Missouri, Beamer enjoys VT. Gundy is even firmly planted into the Oklahoma State program. But for some reason Pelini doesn't seem to be as firm, and therefore he is mentioned for most of the big-time jobs that are coming open, despite his "loose cannon" image and complete inability to deal w/ the press. Despite finishing out of the top 25 2 out of 3 years at Nebraska.

It's a small world out there when it comes to these athletic programs and coaching circles. If he was so "firmly" our head coach - we wouldn't be having these conversations. His stock hasn't improved so much over last year that he all of a sudden is a front runner for every top program without a coach - so what changed?

It has to make you wonder.

The article from the Toledo Blade reporting Bo as a candidate for the Michigan which was proven to be total BS Or two....Bo coming out and stating that the Miami job offer was BS as well? So far that's Truth-0/BS-2!! I find these speculations, inside sources and panic striken fans to be quite amusing!!!!

Bo certainly did not come out and call the Miami rumor BS - i don't remember it getting to the point of "offer" but there were discussions - friendly or not. That had legs, if it didn't it wouldn't have taken 4-5 days to squash. We've already discussed that at length here. The point is last year we didn't hear ANY of this. So why this year? If a paper just wants to sell subscriptions, there are plenty of other coaches to pick out of the sky. Why is Bo getting the finger pointed at him more than others?

That is a good question. But look at the fans reactions with all the BS rumors so far, it's to the point where some think the world is going to end soon. I hate to be on this board when 12//12/2012 comes closer! :madash
