I’d say trev knew firing frost had to happen and rather than wait till October to do so he tossed Scott a bone and did it early so he could make the extra money. Makes that bitter pill go down a little easier.

The fact that they didn't want til October 1 leads me to think that their target is someone who currently isn't coaching, and they are looking to make a quick turnaround.

Agree.  Talk of firing trev is crazy.   He gave his coach a chance.  The coach failed more than anyone thought he could.  Trev pulled the trigger to show we are serious.   What else could you ask for

Well, I hope so.. what may be operative in that is his role in re-negotiating SF's contract.. that whole thing.

Maybe Trev just seen enough.   Maybe he doesn't think losing to Georgia Southern is acceptable.  Maybe he wasn't as worried about that 7 mil as he was when he made the deal.  Weird that any of us would be more worried about that 7 mil more than him.

Maybe the date of the lowered buyout wasn’t ever about the money but trying to light a fire under Frost to instill a sense of urgency.

Sadly, It's going to take 10mil+ a year to get someone to be successful and another 7-8 mil for other staff

I agree with this. We cannot be cheap now. It’s time to go B1G or go home. He clearly is sending the message that money is no object. That should certainly get Urb’s and Stoops attention.

If we could stop paying people not to coach for us and administration makes a rational hire rather than the fan flavor of the month- we will be ok. I have faith in Trev

There's no reason for Frost to take less than he was owed.

Well other than honor and not wanting to leave your alma mater hanging.  It's only two weeks until he was gone.  I could see him saying "if I'm done, I'm done, it's best for everyone".  Could be wrong though.  I guess we'll find out

A booster could have written a check last night to cover this, I think too much is made of the money situation.  Also,  why should any of us care at all about any of the financials? Just give me a decent product,  I don't care about the universities coffers.

I also think this means two things:

1) There is a core of players on this team that believe in Joseph/Whipple/Applewhite....maybe to a certian extent Raiola

2)Trev and Mickey believe tere are 4-5 winnable games still remaining on the schedule.  No way we have a chance accomplishing that with Frost
