:cry  Needs to man up.  If the guy isn't performing, he needs to be benched.  Those are life lessons that coaches need to coach.  Playing nice helps no one esp not

AM and the team sees it and it has to be demoralizing to those who see the hypocrisy in it.   Kind of reminds of Coach Yoast in Remember the Titans going soft on certain players and Coach Boone having none of it.
