Wasn't Frank Solich let go mostly for some sort of other extracurricular activities not on the football field? I heard a rumor but i could be wrong.

Frank was fired because Pederson did not like him. They had a beef back the first time Pederson worked at NU in an assistants position.

As for the extracurricular stuff, more has come out since he went to Illinois(?). And this is one reason why he would probably not be re-hired.

I suspect that TO was getting others impressions of Pelini if the conversation happened after Callahan was fired.

 
i highly doubt that.I think it was just obvious that the program wasn't going to win a NC with him as HC. Though, he should have been given another year just to prove pedersons point - i think the reason was that we weren't going to win a NC with him.

 
Well ya never know about what people say anymore even if it is written on paper. Frank just wasn't the guy but i always wondered why Gill didn't get to coach the bowl game after Frank was fired?? He was the Assistant head coach after all!
