Future BCS Scenario

So down the road, good chances that Texas or Oklahoma will be undefeated at the end of the year with a weaker conference and no CCG.

So does an undefeated Texas/OU get the BCS points over a one loss Big 10 or PAC 10 team? I am assuming that 1-2 loss SEC team will get in the title game.

I can't even imagine the tone around your parts if an undefeated Texas gets the nod over a one loss NU down the road.

The only way that happens is if the Big10 keeps doing well in bowl games, one year of good games does not erase the past few years. I think the addition of Nebraska only helps, and if Michigan ever comes back then yes, a one loss Big10 team would carry a lot of weight.

I've been having the same thought, considering the inevitable CCGs in the Pac10 and Big10. My question is, if OU or Texas goes 12-0, but then NU or Ohio State or whoever is 11-1 but wins the CCG to get to 12-1 in early December, who gets the nod? We know how much the polls and computer love recent wins.

I seriously doubt Texas would get the shaft if Texas went 12-0, very seriously. I mean ffs ND has a clause in the BcS. Oklahoma may get shafted but probably not Texas, I know I'm contradicting my last post a little, but the more I think about it the more I doubt a 1 loss Big10/pac12 team gets in over Texas.

if it was a close loss i think they could...texas or oklahoma could go an entire season only facing one top 25 team...just like boise st of the last couple years...

I think an undefeated Texas or OU would get in over a one loss team. As long as their are at least a few decent teams in the Big 12-2 they should still get in.

Here's the thing, a lot of it depends. For example, lets say that OU and Texas are the only rated teams each other play. Yes, I do think a one loss Big 10 team would jump them. However, aren't we forgetting a little here? I mean even if you take CU and NU out of the Big 12, rarely have only OU and Texas been rated of the remaining ten teams. I highly doubt Pickle and the Tigers are going to lay down. I also doubt Snyder and the Cats are going to lay down. I realize Leach is gone, but it isn't like they hired a coach down at Tech that doesn't know how to win. Pickens is still pouring money into Okie State. Even though A&M has been down for a while doesn't mean they will stay down. It's interesting how several people wanted Gill to be our next coach, but now are giving him absolutely zero chance at KU. IMO, the Big 12 will still have some good ranked teams besides just OU and Texas. While the remaining eight may not be in the Texas and OU league doesn't necessarily mean they won't be top 25 material.

Yeah but for the most part people don't take the other 8 as serioul as some of the B10 schools.. Comapre a win over KU or Missouri versus a win over Penn State or Wisconsin, people are more impressed by beating PSU or Wisconsin.
