Game ball?

Lee misfired there but we always thought he was the gunslinging type who would get a couple of mistakes in the process. Other than that he played a very well managed game, efficient on passing. He was 13-of-19...

We were killing them with those rollouts early on but couldn't get anything going in the second half, unfortunately...

But man, you see the hits that Lee took, then jumped back up and lowered his shoulders running on the very next play? That's what I like to see out of a Cornhusker QB. What a tough kid. I think he gets the game ball on O. Helu paced us today but he wasn't superhuman. On D, Suh, no question. ST, Henery. Obviously.
:yeah :yeah :yeah

Zac Lee reminded me of another Zach who was a JC transfer. I thought Lee showed a lot of toughness tonight. He got hammered and just kept getting up. Tough kid. I always thought Taylor's best quality was his toughness. I don't think Lee will ever match Taylor's ability to throw the ball, but I gained some respect for him tonight.

I agree that Lee showed a lot of toughness tonight. He's rounding into a solid QB, and taking that contact is vintage Husker QB.

Larry Asante needs some love, a pick, and a TD saving forced fumble. Larry had a great game, gets my game ball.
He doesn't get the game ball, Suh really stole that tonite, but i definately give him major props for stopping the only shot KSU had to getting a touchdown.

That play to me, is play of the game. No other play, INT, TD, or sack. That forced fumble by Asante was the play of the game. Just like Dejon Gomes knocking the ball out against KU and saving that touchdown.

I think Asante deserves some props. He had an int and caused the fumble at the 1yd line. He was in position all night. Some people dog him here but he is going to be missed, he has developed into a great player in the secondary.

I agree with the Asante love. I wouldn't give him Game Ball over Suh, but he did have a great game.

And that head-first style people gripe about with Asante really paid off on that fumble he caused. He put his hat right on the ball and blew it out of there.

Suh always deserves the game ball. But what Henery did was unbelievable; he is something special, might be our second best player.

Suh, but if a special teams guy can possibly get one, give it to Henery.

I'm not going to give a game ball to anyone on the offense, but I'll say this: I've been very rough on Zac Lee, but he is playing better--even with plenty of mistakes tonight. He seems to have lost some of that "fear" that it looked like he had in prior games. Sure, he's never going to be a great quarterback, but he doesn't seem to be anywhere near as flustered like he was in prior games. Kudos to the staff for putting him in situations where he can be more manager than leader.

That's saying a bit too much. Henery has had many bad punts this year to go along with his good ones. He's about as good a punter as Lee is a QB - flashes of greatness, along with flashes of facepalm-edness.

There have been times I've wondered aloud who our backup punter was. Tonight may put that to rest for me, but there've been times....

I gave mine to Gomes last week... I'll give it to Asante for the same reason this week. It's nice to see the ball starting to bounce our way again after that ISU debacle!
