I'm pretty sure he stuck around long enough to hear it the first time. There wasn't really anyone who he could tell it to that would have mattered or better context. With the conversation between him and Sam, it made sense to reveal the name to us as the audience. Also, I think the show runners are trying to leave things for GRRM to reveal. Hoping he would finish Winds. He hasn't so they had to push forward.Also, Bran saw that scene and didn't stick around to hear Lyanna say "His name is Aegon TARGARYEN"???

is Tormund dead? We didn't see the body and it's a fantasy series. Maybe he was on the part of the wall that didn't collapse?
Seems weird to kill him that way instead of as a hero in the previous episode
I read somewhere that the majority of episodes this past season take place in a timeline of a few weeks, as opposed to days.Another thought.
In every episode this season the good guys have travelled at light speed regardless of their mode of transportstion (e.g. Breane on a horse) and how far away they were.
So logically, the zombies should be in King's Landing in a few minutes.
