Gerry Named B1G Defensive Player of the Week

He had some rust to shake off at the beginning of the game, in terms of his run fits. However, he turned in a strong game overall. I wonder if the secondary's play overall was improved (evident in the number of INT) by Gerry's presents and signal calling? Probably didn't hurt at least.

Gerry is on a four game streak for "bad behavior": Two ejections, a suspension, and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. I would like to see him break this against Oregon.

One of the players interviewed after the game said Gerry coming back this past week was a major plus, not only because of his play, but because he called the proper sets. So, Thanks_Tom, it appears this would concur with your comment above!

Correction....

He was ejection for two crappy calls by that was later shown that he shouldn't have been ejected.

He DID have a suspension.

My personal opinion is his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was BS.

BUT...yes....I would like to see him get through a game without any issues.

I think he handed it back because he was embarrassed that a QB took him down like that - kind of like a return man being tackled by the punter.

Gerry is a beast - he's definitely an all-conference talent (and I think top three team all-america). We'll see how the season plays out, but he should be in line for some accolades.

The unsportsmanlike was warranted.. The BS part was the other guy wasn't flagged for throwing the ball at him.
