Getting tickets on gameday

I'm planning on hitting up the KU game and then a friend of mine who is going asked me if I'd want to go to another game too this year....(not sure which one)

how easy is it to get scalped student tickets? Last year we lucked out and scored some and got them validated for about 60 bucks total. I don't want to buy them in advance or get crappy overpriced seats from other scalpers...mainly because I prefer to sit in the student section where the real crazy, loud fans are.

But of course I'm getting nervous whether or not I'll find tickets the day of the game...do I have anything to worry about? I'd hate to have to travel all the way up there to just sit in a bar in Lincoln.

Go to the Union a day or two before the game and ask around or make a sign saying you're looking for tix. Some students find out at the last minute they aren't going to the game, some don't even SELL their ticket, they just eat it. The first year I was a student but enrolled too late to get a student ticket, I had a couple of girlfriends in Sororities who would ask their sisters if they wanted to sell their ticket. That ALWAYS worked, and I got a good price as well. But of course at that time, since I was a student also I didn't have to get it validated. I'm not sure how they do that now.

P.S. and yes, I do still wish I had sorority girlfriends! :thumbs

yes yes, sorority girls are nice...for many things besides game day tickets ;)

but I live in KC so it's not really easy for me to buy tickets off of people. We probably won't even be up in Lincoln until the day before the game (depending on the game time).

I guess I'll just have to hope that I luck out and find a couple kids selling their tickets out front.

The problem is, most students who AREN'T going to the game don't go to the stadium to try to sell...they are usually out of town for the weekend. I guess I don't have good advice for gameday since you live outside of Lincoln...I have buddies in KC who have season tix....not that that helps you.

hmmm, thanks for that.

I guess I'll just have to take my chances. I guess I do have a friend up there and I'll see if she can score us some before we head up. Otherwise if I can't find a student, I'll be forced to spend the 50% price hike the scalpers charge

i have never had a hard time getting tickets on game day outside the stadium. the bigger the game the more you will pay though.

someone is always selling their tickets

A couple of years ago my dada got two tickets to the Southern Miss game for $80 total. So you will find people selling for cheap, especially if the game is about to start.
