Hey I don't mind calling things like they are but picking out something like "Working the Refs” a complete column because you can't think of anything else? Write a fricking story, make it positive and add a couple of paragraphs about things we need to work on.

Two weeks ago He was about as negative as h*ll too! Isn't he from Missouri?? :nutz

Sometimes I hate his articles, but it's better than having a blind columnist that always seems to be positive....

..and the Ref thing was kind of a big deal...I mean, a lot of us on the board are talking about it.

 
I live in St. Louis, and he is better than anyone I have read from here or when I lived in Kansas City. He is opinionated which rubs some people the wrong way, but his writing is top notch if you ask me (you didn't).

They can't all be cupping Bo's balls like Sipple.

We need someone from the outside covering the team locally if you ask me we have enough homer articles in the OWH and Journal Star. You can only read so many back slapping articles.

 
Shatel used to rip Osborne back in the day - I'm used to it. After the 'Noles beat us at the end of the '92 season, I believe good ole' Tom was letting all the OWH readers know that Osborne's refusal to change from the ancient option offense was the reason the Huskers couldn't get over the hump. Little did he know...

Its not that he (TO) refused to change his offense....He could recruit what he needed to be successful....so he DIDN'T need to change.....

I know that is a bit out of nowhere, but he did kick a lil bit of A$$ for 25 years.....

 
He is a good writer. In my opinion the Nebraska faithful could stand to hear a contrarian opinion every now and then. He seems to agree.

This is a fun team to watch, but all opinions should be welcome in a year like this.

 
I like Tom Shatel. No, I don't always agree with what he says, but it's his job as a columnist to state his opinion and maybe fire up people at the same time.

 
Shatel is a MU grad but he is not well liked back here in Columbia at all.

He may be a good technical writer, but, we find him arrogant and frankly classless at times.

You guys can keep him, we do not want him back here ever!!!!
