Getting to know Riley

As I don't know much about Riley (apart from the basic info provided when he was hired), I was hoping people more knowledgeable them me could help me understand what offense he runs (more then just pro style), the defense he runs (more then 4-2-5, if that's what he's going to run), and notable players he coached in college.

I ask that people not convert this thread into one in which you express your belief about whether it was a good or bad hire. Rather, just be informative.

His offense while being a pro style, is not a west coast. The run/pass ratio tends to change based on the talent available. From what I have read (I can't find the tweets right now) it tends to amount to "we have X studs as weapons, and we will get the ball to them in any way possible"

I think the defense has been a 4-3 base, but given the PAC12, there was a lot of nickle.

Notable players, Brandin Cooks won last year's Biletnikoff, was the first round pick of the Saints last year. Mike Haas won a Biletnikoff. Steven Jackson, the Rogers brothers. Matt Moore, who has been floating around the NFL for awhile now.

exactly exactly exactly. Which is why that if tommy proves to be the better qb, we will still see an abundance of speed options abd read options. Gell probably still will even if its Stanton. He was just as good a runner in high school. Pierson El will be used much more predominantly as well. Cross's touches will be much more calculated to his skillset and what he brings to the table.

Well. This is all good about the offense he has ran in the past.

However, even before he was hired here he was talking about possibly making major changes in his offense. At this point, I honestly don't know what to expect other than he is known to utilize his talent well and adjust.

He recruited the Rogers brothers, and they played key parts in his offense.

No one is going to be able to answer that question for you. I get that he uses what he has, the talent left will dictate what he does.

Just have to wait until the spring game to even have a clue.
