Go to KOZN 1620 a.m. RIGHT NOW!

I wonder if Callahan or Coz has ever thought of bringing in a few former Blackshirts to give them a little history lesson on the meaning, tradition and significance of being a blackshirt. Or I wonder if these (former players) have offered to do so?
Didn't they deny Jason Peter's request to be a Grad Assistant a couple years ago?

Broderick Thomas just intimated that Steve P does'nt like to have former players hanging around. This is the second time I've heard a former player Clestor Johnson say something like that.
I hope for Pedey's sake, that's just a nasty rumor.

Would be good motivation...but the way Christian Peter was talking, that might not be the best idea. Large men questioning each others pride and determination could lead to some 'issues'.

Steve Warren, Mike Minter, Jerry Murtaugh, Christian Peter

Steve Warren said that practice is not supposed to be fun, its about getting better and winning ball games, going out and winning ball games

Christian Peter said that McKeon should just walk off of the team, that there is no excuse for comments like those. This is Div 1 football. This is Nebraska. The Blackshirts should be stripped from the players after what they did this weekend. It was a disgrace. I played for the tradition, for the guy next to me, for the Blackshirts that came before me.

Mike Minter-a slap in the face for Zac Bowman to strip off his blackshirt as a leader and not have the other leaders on the defense not to follow his lead.

Biggest thing that I got from this was------there is nothing that we can do about this, the 5 of us talking about this is not going to do anything. These guys have to go out and fix it themselves, and fight like men.

AMEN!! :clap

To bad they didn't bring up the booing question course, it sounded like Christian might have been one of the people booing. chuckleshuffle

Christian talked about that, saying that they weren't booing the fact that they weren't playing well, rather that there was basically no emotion or fire being shown by the defense, and I agree with him. It's one thing to play like s*** but still bust your a$$, it's another to just walk around with your head down and show no emotion.

And then you have players that say the exact opposite. Who do you believe?

I don't really understand the disconnect. By the way, we've talked about for years. It's nothing new. Anti-Callahan folks side with guys like Broderick always.

I think it's weird that they don't allow former players to come around. There is something generally wrong with that and that just pisses me off!!!! These guys left their blood, sweat, and tears on the field for that University and the state of Nebraska so at least they can do is let them be around the program. I wish Peters would go down there and rip someone's head off!!! :madash

Thanks for some of the highlights Rob. I'm going to try to listen to the entire replay.

I feel a rush of verification to everything I've been thinking while I listen to these guys.

WE'VE GOT BLACKSHIRTS SAYING THAT THIS DEFENSE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE CALLED BLACKSHIRTS!

All the bitching and moaning from McKeon, defenders from the four corners of the earth trying to whine about the fan base not accepting these jokers and thus ruining our image. And that is the thing that infuriates me the most. This whole ongoing thread has absoultely NOTHING to do with fans loving Nebraska or fans supporting Nebraska. This is about––it is ONLY about––a group of 11 imposters who mysitcally appear on the field each week. They call themselves Blackshirts, 10 of them even have the gaul to wear them on the practice field.

But Peterson is spot on. For the love of all that is Nebraska football, these guys need to get their asses off the message boards, out of the newspapers, and worry about how they're going to win games. The fact that we're even having a discussion about the FANS of Nebraska is absolutely ridiculous. Fans don't miss tackles; fans don't play without an ounce of heart and passion; fans don't let a scrub team out of the MAC come into our house and take a buzz saw to our tradition.

Now, what I want to see is a defense who doesn't cry for itself because the big, bad, meany fans are all talking about how sh**ty they are. I want to see Blackshirts. There's no need to define what that means. The fans know what it means. It's time for the players to learn.

X

Are you going to say no to a guy that takes a loaded gun on a plane?
