Going to Omaha!

I'm leaving on Wednesday to go home to visit Mom for a week! I haven't been to Omaha since October. Hopefully the weather is decent, but it's Nebraska.....ya never know! We've already made some plans, but mostly I can't wait just to spend the time together. :clap

Oh my! Hadn't thought of Big Fred's for a long time. Kind of got me in trouble one night after a football game many years ago...... I went to South High and we had lost to our rival Bellevue High. We normally went to Pizza Hut in Bellevue after games, but were too depressed to be amongst the "enemy", so we headed out west to Big Fred's. I had my Dad's Studebaker and my girlfriends and half the football team along. Wasn't supposed to go anywhere but Pizza Hut. Who would have known? Except I left the Big Fred's pizza box in the back seat! Whoops! Anyway.........thanks for the memories, T_O!

 
Well, I FINALLY made it! Left Pittsburgh Wed @ noon, but had to be diverted to Indianapolis because ALL flights in and out of Chicago were cancelled! Spent the night in a hotel in Indy and got up Thur morning, flew back to Chicago, and then to Omaha! What an adventure! We are going to the casino today...wish us luck! (It's so good to be 'home'!)

 
Gotta love winter time....especially when flying! I had a hard time getting to Omaha, but it was almost as bad getting back to Pittsburgh! Delayed flights due to bad weather AGAIN in Chicago. Once I left Omaha and finally got to Chicago, there was a "mechanical problem" with the rear door. We finally get to board the plane and de-ice, etc, and the pilot says there is another "mechanical problem", so back to the gate we go! The pilot announces "the problem seems to be fixed", and I'm thinking "it SEEMS to be fixed, or it IS fixed"....kind of important. De-ice again! I was wondering if I should start writing letters to my family in case the plane crashes!...... I finally get to Pittsburgh 5 hours later! Then had to drive 1 1/2 hours to get home. BUT....had a great time back in Omaha. There's no place like home!
