Golf

If I could go back in time, I would play more expensive courses instead of caring about the price at the time.

I know 375 is a lot and it is, I agree...but if you love golfing, it is worth it for that once a year golf trip.
Yes, there are courses that are just worth it.  Especially if you're with a fun group.

Can't wait for Quarry Oaks to open back up.  Thought it was going to be open this summer and booked a guys golf trip to Omaha.  Turns out, it's not scheduled to open till September.

I tend to agree but I had already been to Bandon Dunes in May...and my wife was with me and would have known the actual price
Yeah, I used to have a credit card that I only saw the bill.  Now, she made me switch to a travel card and she has access to all of it.  She's constantly looking at it saying..."why did you spend that".

Quarry is still not open?

I wonder what they will be charging?  last time I played I think it was 100

Yeah...that's about what it was a couple years ago when we played it.  I would expect it to be a little higher than that at the beginning because everyone is going to try to get on.  I'm really interested to see how they changed it.  I really hope they didn't screw up my favorite hole.  It was a par 3 and I think it was hole 16 or 17.  Absolutely beautiful hole.

So, for guys around Omaha.  What courses should we look at?  Last time we played Quarry and Indian Creek.  This time I think we are going to try to get on Iron Horse.  What other one would you suggest?

Looks like they widen the fairways, thank god!

Is that par 3 you are talking about the one that is elevated?

Yes.  Actually, now that I say that, I think it was a par 4.

I think they made fewer blind shots too.

The blind tee shots on that course are sooooo annoying.

One summer we played it and it had to have been over 100 degrees out.  The beers were just doing nothing to us we just sweat it all out.  At the end of the round we basically had to ring out our shirts.

But that is a fun course.

My son and I played Iron Horse last week and the course was in great shape and was a lot of fun.

I was told Quarry Oaks expects to be completed by September but won't be taking reservations till Spring 2025.

Iron Horse is great

Bent Tree in Council Bluffs is really nice

Arbor Links (Private now but I think there are ways to get on) is AMAZING.  Out in Nebraska City

Woodland Hills in Eagle NE is very nice.

Can't go wrong with Indian Creek in Omaha

We ended up playing Iron Horse on Saturday and Indian Creek on Sunday. Both very nice courses.  This is the second time we’ve played Indian Creek.

IC was just felt like a nicer course. I think it was because there was some construction around IH that just took away from some of the views.

Great weekend of golf.

Nice!

I have not been out much this summer, not yet, IC is always a great time, that course is hard too.  Do you remember what is costs now?

Not bad!  I need to get out there this summer.  I usually play there once or twice each year and each time I play I think I will finally play it well...and then I don't.
I played it worse than IH.  But, the greens at IH were crazy fast compared to what I'm used to.  The greens at IC were still very nice and I played the entire 18 with the same ball.   :nanalama
