Sources are confirming that 5-foot-10 and 160-pound Drew Brown from Southlake (Texas) Carroll has committed to Nebraska. The standout kicker is the younger brother of Kris Brown, a four-year starter as a kicker at Nebraska and won two national championships.

The Nebraska kicking camp is June 7-8 and reportedly Brown picked up an offer from Nebraska after camp and committed. Brown has been unavailable for comment thus far.

That's a good pickup. Husker fans probably can't even remember what its like to have someone who isn't dependable at that spot. Hoping he is just like his brother.

I meet their cousin a couple of weeks at a Hibbett Sports near where I live. He noticed my Husker hat and asked if I was a fan, and we started talking Husker football. That's when he told me Kris and Drew were his cousins, and how excited the family was that Drew was going to his dream school.
