Great Northern Beans:
Soak a pkg. of Great Northern Beans overnight in water in the refrigerator..make sure they are covered.
The next day...chop garlic and onion-I chopped up alot of garlic and diced a very large purple onion.
Use a Ham Shank or Bacon...we had a ham shank last night and I prefer that..but..bacon is good too.
When ready to cook the Northern beans, drain the beans and put Northern Beans in a Dutch Oven-(large pot) and cover with water.
Add diced garlic, onion, ham shank and put a bag of baby potatoes in the beans.
Salt and Pepper to your preferance.
Bring pot to a boil; cover pan and turn down to low heat--and let it simmer for 3-4 hours.
