GT: Northwestern at Nebraska - 4PM - ESPNU

Currently tied for 4th in the conference. Guaranteed no worse than 6th. Nice work, fellas. Find a way to win at least one of these last two.

I was wondering about preseason placement in B1G standings. 11th or 12th?

Most of this probably has been dissected, but just now home from the Vault and haven't caught up on the entire thread..........

Thought the crowd was just itching to have us run them out of the gym at the start, but 4 quick turnovers shut that down. Later the crowd was great.

And as ugly and disjointed as the game seemed to be, a lot of the games today were 50-something to 40-something, so the grind that Smiles talks about is all over the place.

Not optimistic AT Indiana, but would love to be fooled.

And like everyone else, thinking next Sunday could be enormous.........

Regardless of the result in Bloomington, next Sunday will be enormous:

A win in Bloomington means a win against Wisconsin could place us in the tourney regardless of what we do in the tournament.

A loss in Bloomington means a win against Wisconsin will be necessary to give us a chance to get into the tournament.

Also just getting back from the Vault enjoying the afternoon up in Suite 21.

Couple of things.

Yes the crowd seemed yearning at times to just explode but the sloppy play kept them on their hands. At times it got pretty loud, like the closing seconds of a NW possession to egg on the defense. But most the time the crowd was almost begging for a reason to go ape.

Shavon Shields continues to confirm my belief that he is the best PLAYER on the team. From scoring to rebounding to passing to defense, the kid is the most complete player on the roster. And when he gets going and attacking the rim and getting to the line this team is 10x better. Smart, court savvy, and great attitude.

Now TP is the best SCORER. However, he again forced a lot of contested jumpers early in the shot clock. I know he makes some, but these are shots that can be found any time during a possession. I wish he'd let the game come to him instead of forcing it like we've seen the last two games. He can grow so much more into a complete player.

Benny Parker. You just keep doing your thing young man. Those chants will continue to grow louder.

Loved the emphasis and intensity rebounding today. Complete 180 from the Illinois game. Those early offensive rebounds in the first half may havejust won this game.

Finally Pike gave a great speech at half representing all the Husker Legends. Pretty much got the crowd completely geeked up for the Wisky game
