Gun or Taser?

Kitsap County, WA -- Officers responding to a welfare check of a man in a tree in Kitsap County accidentally shot the man in an attempt to use a Taser on him.

The man had been holed up in the tree for hours. An officer used his Taser on the man and after it had no affect, the officer asked another officer to Taser the man. The other officer accidentally used his gun instead of his Taser and the man in the tree was shot.

The man sustained one gunshot wound and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Yeah it clearly says on the side X26 Taser!!! :WTH And yes the yellow and black stripes on the front of the taser cartridge would give it away as well!!!

 
Plus, doesn't one have to enter like a special key into the tazer to get it to work. I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered someone showing me that.

 
Or.....that's their story and they are sticking too it! I think this is still one far fetched story. Although I never "Arm Chair Quarterback" another Officer's actions and what he thought, I find it hard to believe this is the "rest of the story"!
