Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey Day to one and all.

Whether you changed your traditional plans due to Covid, or you decided to go all out with the normal get together, I wish you and yours a virus free day.

Since we're on our own this year we're able to try some different dishes.

Breakfast grilled cheese sandwiches and mimosas this morning.

Smoked turkey with a cranberry-chicken sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and rosemary popovers.

Got pecan pie, cranberry nut bread, and Lizzies for dessert.

Cocktails: spiced honey bourbon old fashioneds and a spiced cranberry punch.

Kinda glad we're doing our 75-minute spin class this morning

I've been making pumpkin pie from scratch with the kids, but this year we couldn't get pie pumpkins that had enough flesh on them. And the kids didn't want to make the dough for the crust, so bought pumpkin puree and pie crust. I guess it's a lot easier to just mix the filling and pour it into the crust.

We'll be having the usual turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and stuffing. Not making a few sides like cranberries or green beans because it's just the 4 of us this year.

still making the traditional meal although my wife and i are in quarantine since we were exposed this week.  not letting the kids come home to visit.  i am looking forward to a week of turkey sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.    :)
